After years of solid performance things are starting to crumble. All summer I was able to regularly hit 27mbps peaks with Comcast’s delayed packet shaping (aka PowerBoost) and then things would lock in right at 8mbps after being shaped. Over the last couple weeks things have degraded until they hit a new low tonight:

–19:51:21– http://cluster/100mb.bin
Connecting to cluster:80… connected.
HTTP request sent, awaiting response… 200 OK
Length: 104857600 (100M) [application/octet-stream]
Saving to: `100mb.bin’

It’s a sad day when my 3mbps DSL service kicks 8mbps cable Internet’s ass.
